  This is my first time completing a renovation project. I was in search of a contractor to add paneling to my wall. And the I found Essence Construction. They were professional, efficient, and the paneling turned out beautiful. They check in throughout the project and follow up to see how I liked their work. I recommend them highly. 😊

  Scott and the Essence Construction team should be considered the most reputable contractors in Iowa. I speak from experience in saying it's not easy to find good, dependable people to work on your home improvement/renovation project. Scott has delivered time and time again. His communication is top tier, punctuality and timeliness get an A+, and of course the work and dedication to his craft really separate him from the rest. He's someone willing to go the extra mile, proven through his attention to detail and seeing projects through to completion, including the clean up once the work is done. (It's disturbing how many other contractors fail to clean up after themselves as soon as the job is finished!) In terms of specifics, Essence Construction just finished installing a french drain and multiple sump pumps in my basement and they've redone the entire exterior of my house that looks incredible - they are the ONLY construction team I will work with in the future; they're THAT reliable. They're second to none at working with you to make sure you get exactly what you want, on budget, and on time, and are super flexible when I asked to adjust a project plan/scope of work. 10/10 would recommend.

  We called Scott in June of this year (2023) bcuz we have alot of projects & updates to our house that need to be done. Scott's company has done just a few projects so far but we still have alot left to do. I've had a lot of questions along the way & Scott as taken the time & several times to discuss with me options that i have for each project. His communication skills are wonderful, plus it doesn't hurt he has a great sense of humor. I really appreciate Scott's expertise, professionalism, his patience, his communication skills, plus the great work he & his team have done. I will be giving this company all our buisness for all the projects that we need to have done now & in the future, I trust them 100%👍😊 .

  Scott made two visits to meet and gather information needed to provide a bid for a bathroom remodel and tile flooring install. Then simply stopped responding to texts and never provided the bid.
