Iowa's Best Contractors sends text messages only to contractors who have asked for them. This page explains exactly what we send, who can receive it, how you agree, and how you stop it.
Who sends these messages
These messages are sent by Favorite Followers LLC, trading as Iowa's Best Contractors at contractiowa.com. Favorite Followers LLC is the business registered for this messaging programme and is responsible for it. Our privacy policy and terms of use apply to these messages.
Who receives messages
Contractors registered with the State of Iowa who are claiming or who own a listing on contractiowa.com, and who have given express consent.
Homeowners never receive text messages from us. We do not text the contractors listed in the directory either — being listed is not consent. Only a contractor who has signed in, started claiming their own listing, and ticked the consent box will ever get a message.
What we send
Account messages only: one-time verification codes, and notifications about your listing, homeowner bid requests, and released contact details.
- Verification codes — a 6-digit code, only when you ask for one.
- Listing activity — a homeowner posted a project in your trade and county, or accepted your bid.
We never send marketing or promotional texts, and we never text you about anything other than your own account.

How you agree — the exact wording we show
When you choose to receive your verification code by text, this is the box you tick. It is never pre-ticked, and you can always choose an automated phone call or email instead.

Consent is not a condition of anything. You can claim your listing, bid on projects and use every part of this site without ever agreeing to texts — the phone-call and email options exist for exactly that reason.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Verification codes are sent only when you request one. Notifications are sent only when there is real activity on your listing.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. We never charge for messages.
How to stop messages, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages. Reply HELP for help, or email us. Opting out never removes your listing from the directory.
Replying STOP stops the messages at your carrier and switches them off in your account here, so our records match what you asked for. Replying YES confirms a number you signed up on the sign-up page — until you do, that number receives nothing, because a web form alone is not proof the phone is yours.
Opting out never removes your listing.Your listing comes from the State of Iowa’s public register and is not tied to whether you accept texts. If you want the listing itself changed or removed, use the removal page instead.
We do not share your mobile information
We do not share mobile opt-in data or consent with any third party, and we never sell it. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and we cannot guarantee it — which is why an automated phone call and email remain available for every verification.
