Correct or remove a listing

Every listing on Iowa's Best Contractors comes from a public record — the Active Iowa Construction Contractor Registrations, published by the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing. We don't write these records and we can't change what the State holds. But we can change what we publish.

If your details are wrong

Public records go stale. Email us at hello@contractiowa.com with your business name and registration number, and tell us what's wrong. We'll correct it.

If the State's own record is wrong, you'll want to fix it at the source too — contact DIAL. Otherwise it will come back the next time we refresh from the registry.

If you want your listing removed

Ask, and we'll remove it. You don't have to give a reason, and we won't try to talk you out of it. Email hello@contractiowa.com from an address we can tie to the business, or include your registration number.

We aim to action removal requests within five business days, and we keep a suppression record so a future data refresh doesn't quietly re-list you.

What we never publish

Your email address, your phone number, and your street address are all in the public state record. We deliberately don't republish any of them. City, county, and ZIP is as specific as we get — a lot of Iowa contractors run their business from home, and a directory has no business putting 23,000 home addresses on the internet.
