**Title:** Avoid Peterson Companies for Irrigation I have been a Peterson Companies customer for over three years. They designed and installed my entire lake irrigation system, have performed every spring startup and fall shutdown, and every major component of the system was either supplied by them or purchased based on their recommendations. Unfortunately, the system has never operated reliably. From the beginning, I've dealt with constant failures, leaking fittings, repeated service calls, and long periods where the irrigation simply didn't work. Whenever I asked why, I was given lengthy explanations about how difficult the system was to diagnose. My response was always the same: Peterson designed it, installed it, and has maintained it from day one. I expected the company that built the system to be able to make it work. Last year the pump failed completely. Peterson couldn't determine why but recommended replacing the pump and several additional parts. I spent a substantial amount of money following their recommendation. After multiple calls, they finally installed everything. It worked for about two weeks before failing again. Despite repeated calls and text messages, no one came back to repair it before winter. This year my spring startup wasn't performed until June 30, after much of the irrigation season had already passed. When the technician arrived, he struggled with one of the fittings and told me he would have to keep trying different ideas because he wasn't sure how to make it work. I reminded him that Peterson designed, installed, and has serviced this system for years. He also told me Peterson is moving away from residential irrigation because those customers aren't profitable. He said he is the only residential irrigation technician serving roughly 400 customers and that customers who want better service are simply leaving. Hearing that explained a lot about the service I've received. When he left, my irrigation system still wasn't working. Everything I've described above is documented through years of invoices, text messages, and phone records. I sincerely hope Peterson Companies improves its residential irrigation service, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend them for irrigation work.

Their residential irrigation services are terrible. Their technicians are inexperienced, impossible to reach someone in the office, always put into voicemail. Never showup at the time they say they will be at your residence. We changed to Mr. Rain Irrigation out of Bloomington, MN. So glad we did Mr. Rain is a wonderful irrigation company!

Fast delivery and the driver put the 10 yards of dirt on the tarp perfectly!

I got two load of trap rock. The first delivery was mostly fines but at least it was the correct color. The 2nd load was mostly clay and fines so it’s not even the same color and it’s dusty. After the delivery I called and said something isn’t correct and then I was told oh the pit gave us a flyer stating it could be a different color. This was after they dropped it off and nick from Peterson said if it doesn’t change to the correct color he will personally come and shovel the rock up. Guess we will see if he hold up to his word. I won’t be using Peterson’s again.

Worst experience ever with a landscaping company and a waste of money. Last summer, my husband and I decided to fill in our pool in the back. Peterson's was the fastest at getting back to us and seemed very knowledgable by saying sand was the way to go. I measured the dimensions of the pool and gave the dimensions to them to figure out how many truck loads of sand we would need. At first they said 4 or 5 and then the next day they said 8. I wasn't sure how much we would need and wanted to start small. Nic said that he would put the order in for 8 but that they would only drop of a few loads the first day and then drop off the rest on Friday if we thought it would be enough. We happened to be gone for the next afternoon when they dropped loads off. They ended up dropping off all 8 loads and it was clearly way too much!! We only needed about half. We used what we could to fill in the pool but still ended up having 4 loads in our driveway. Even though it was their mistake, they charged us for it and wouldn't come pick it up. Even when I was calling to talk to Nic about it, they kept saying he was busy and would call back but he never did. It took my husband calling only a few hours later to ask for him that he ended up picking up the phone right away to help. (Because he didn't know it was my husband) We spent $700 on the sand we didn't need. On top of that, Peterson's was saying that we would have to pay to have it picked up. (Our house is 3 minutes away from their headquarters in Wyoming so distance wasn't an issue!) Because it was sand, no one would take it, even for free. I called everywhere. After months on marketplace for free, a guy left his skid at our house for a week so that he could come to our house every day to load sand onto his trailer a few times and take it home. We are so thankful for that. It was impossible to park in our driveway all summer and we had sand in all our clothes and in the house everywhere. About 4 dump truck loads of sand extra in front of our house and we weren't going to pay extra to have it gone when we already lost 700. Our toddler stained most of his clothes last summer from it. Peterson's is too big to care about their customers. They only care about money. If you want a job done, go find a smaller local company that will care about you.
