Dudley Hussong, the founder, and now Chairman of the Board, set out to solve a simple problem: how to heat a workspace more efficiently during the fuel embargo. The solution he built from metal and ingenuity sparked something far greater than he imagined. Word spread, neighbors took notice, and what began as one fireplace became two, then many more. Within two years, Kozy Heat fireplaces were selling throughout Minnesota, carried by the reputation they earned one home at a time.
