Landmark Irrigation, Inc. began operations in 1976 as Sutter Heating and Electric owned and operated by Steve Sutter in the small town of Taylor, Missouri. In 1990, Sutter Electric became a part of the dealer network for Valmont Industries representing the Valley brand as a full-service irrigation dealer and servicing customers in northern Missouri, west central Illinois, and southeastern Iowa. In 1991, the company expanded their services and began the installation of systematic drain tile using RTK/GPS technology with design and installation. In 1992, the company incorporated as Sutter Electric, Inc. and then in the fall of 1997 Sutter Electric, Inc. began doing business as Landmark Irrigation, Inc. Landmark Irrigation, Inc. has taken much pride in being a family owned and operated business for over thirty years; Steve was joined by his oldest son, Clinton Sutter, in 2007 as a General Manager/Salesman and then by his youngest son, Craig Sutter, in 2011 as a Project Manager/Salesman.
