  The counter tops are beautiful, they were purchased from Home Depot. The installation was done by McDermott. The installation seemed to go just fine, everything with the countertops looked okay when the installers left. Within 15 minutes of them leaving, I noticed a few scratches on our newly refinished cabinets and a good size scratch on my floor from when they moved the oven and I immediately emailed Brenna to let her know and she told me there was absolutely no way the installers did that because they didn’t move my stove(she was not here, she is going off their word) when I insisted they did and even made a comment to him while he was standing behind it about what they might find behind their because we had just moved in and the house was filthy. She insisted they didn’t do it even after sending the pictures, she sent the same pictures back circling a different area stating the scratch was there…that picture didn’t have a scratch it was a shadow. We went back and forth with several emails, she at one point asked me what it would cost to replace the floorboards or if I was looking for compensation, I didn’t want anything, I was just looking for accountability and an apology. I never got either. A few days later, we replaced the stove and when we moved the stove out, I noticed that the installers had caulked behind the existing stove, which would have been completely impossible to do without moving the stove! I took pictures and sent them to Brenna to ask if she could explain how they were able to do that when they didn’t move the stove. I still never got an apology, they still never admitted fault, she said there must have just been a misunderstanding. There was not a misunderstanding, she questioned my character and made me feel like I was crazy. Never once did anyone contact me other than Brenna, the scheduler even after all of this. I would never recommend this company after the way they handled their mistake. They did say they’d give me $200 back-definitely not what it cost for the installation but that’s fine. The counters are done and we won’t have to discuss it again. (Pictures are included, don’t mind how dirty the cabinets were, this was the first time WE moved the stove, it has since been cleaned but you can see it had been caulked)

  I recently visited Home Depot in Grafton, Wisconsin, seeking new countertops, and had the pleasure of working with Tim Sullivan, the sales representative. He demonstrated exceptional knowledge and provided invaluable assistance. Although I did not make a decision immediately, I had previously owned Corian countertops in another residence and was highly satisfied with them, so I was looking for a similar product. Ultimately, I selected HI-MACS countertops. To complete the job, I also had the opportunity to work with McDermott Top Shop, located in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The communication was outstanding, with seamless email and phone correspondence, as well as efficient appointment scheduling. I interacted with several staff members, including Jaylynn at the office, and others, who consistently provided clear explanations and a friendly demeanor. Taylor visited my home to take measurements, and I made a few adjustments and clarifications, which he accommodated with understanding. The installation team, consisting of Eric and Rick, introduced themselves, were punctual, and efficiently removed the old countertops and installed the new ones. They thoroughly cleaned up the area and completed the job within a reasonable timeframe. I was extremely pleased with the final result. My order was placed on June 22, and the installation was completed on July 9. Thanks Again….. Diane F Thiensville

  Very happy with our installation of the granite. They did an awesome job. The counters look great. Also offered to come early for measurements and install because they were ahead of schedule which we were happy to accommodate! All in all, our project took about a month from ordering to install. Very pleased with the sink installs as well. They did a great job with the undermounts. In my previous home, the undermount sink install was awful and left a gap that would get dirty and limescaled easily, not these! Can't wait til our house is fully done to enjoy these! Definitely recommend! Thanks McDermott!

  I am not quite finished working with McDermott Top Shop yet and may give a better review once our business is complete but we are currently displeased. On June 4th we had them come out to measure. The guy was pleasant and was able to answer my questions. Fast forward two weeks, they come to install and the installers were great. Very nice and professional. Unfortunately, measurements were incorrect for 50% of our countertops. That happens and isn't the installers fault so I give them grace. They said they'll be able to finish countertops and backsplash all at once when they come the next week. The next week they are able to install all of my countertops, which look great! We're very pleased with the work so far. However, they can't install any of the backsplash; one side is measured completely wrong and even missing cutouts for outlets, and the other side won't fit into place above our range because of an arch. I specifically asked if the arch would be a problem when the guy came to measure and he even took a photo. Clearly there was no communication about that between him and whoever cut the pieces. The installers also informed me that the bumped out ledge of a window above our sink would be in the way and asked me to take care of it. This was another thing I had already asked the guy who came to measure if it would be a problem and he said no. Not a huge problem for me to take care of, but again, clearly no communication between the people measuring, cutting, or installing. The installers pack up and tell me they'll reach out about rescheduling install. I wait two days for a phone call before I call myself. The person in the office had no idea we needed our install rescheduled once more and messaged me back with a new install date, today, July 20th. I've just received a message that install has been canceled today and the office will reach out to reschedule - I'm not going to hold my breath, and anticipate I'll need to call myself. Everyone I have spoken to or worked directly with has been friendly and professional. It is unfortunate that they don't seem to communicate with each other, and that our service so far has been suboptimal. Edit after project completed: Finally got the finished countertop/backsplash installed and it looks great! We are incredibly happy with how it all turned out. Again, everyone we worked with was kind and professional, but just the time it took to get everything done and the apparent miscommunication between the project managers, measurers, cutters, and installers made the process a bit of a slog. In the end they stuck to their guarantee of 100% satisfaction so I can't complain too much and have increased my review accordingly. I'll also note we did get a refund on a line item we did not end up receiving and the amount was small (~$100) compared to overall project cost, but I had to call to get it.
