For 121 years, Minburn Communications has been paving the way for superior telecommunications in Iowa. Founded in January 1903 by local businessmen and farmers, the Minburn Mutual Telephone Company’s stockholders purchased and installed cable lines along poles and fence lines to create a new telephone system. In 1963, this old string and pole system was converted to an all-buried, single-party telephone exchange, making Minburn Telephone one of the first in the U.S. Since then, the company has grown to include the subsidiaries of Minburn Telecommunications, Minburn Cablevision, and Dallas County Wireless, all of which are d/b/a Minburn Communications.
