Why is finding the best contractor more of a challenge than the job itself? You search. You scroll. You open 47 tabs. You call three numbers and meet three voicemails. Your brother-in-law knows a guy. The guy doesn't call back either. Meanwhile, the drip keeps dripping. Here's the good news. Iowa's Best Contractors puts every state-registered contractor in one place. We find every registered contractor who specializes in your type of project. Check their state registration. You can tap to call, or if you prefer something easier, post your project once. Add your project details and a few photos. It takes about three minutes. Your coffee won't even get cold. We even get your home's public records. Bedrooms, bathrooms, square feet. So contractors can size up the job and bid correctly the first time. Then your request goes out to every registered contractor near you who specializes in your kind of work. Watch who was contacted, who viewed the job, and who quoted. Like package tracking. But for your roof, interested contractors send quotes directly to you. Compare them side-by-side. Price. Start date. Registration number. Call the one you like. Or don't. No obligation, no hard feelings. It's free for homeowners. Always. No sign-up forms. No middlemen. Plus, free cost guides are available for your kind of project. So you know the ballpark before you ask. Less hassle. Less phone tag. Contractors come to you, and you choose. Find a contractor or post your project free at iowasbestcontractors.com.

Plain answers

Four questions, answered straight.

Is every Iowa contractor really listed here?

Yes, all 18,297 construction contractors currently registered with the State of Iowa are listed, across all 99 counties. The directory is generated from the State's own public registry (Iowa Code ch. 91C) and refreshed weekly. Nobody can pay to be added to the directory or removed from it, the list is always complete.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Completely free for homeowners. Search, open a contractor’s profile, and call them directly without an account or form. To collect bids, post your project and confirm your email so you can manage replies in your dashboard. After you complete your request, signed-in Premiere contractors can see the address, phone and email you share. Those details are not included in contractor emails.

What does "registered" mean? Is it a license?

Registration with the State of Iowa confirms a contractor is compliant with unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation law. It is not a license: the State does not test skills, verify experience, or check references. Ask for references and proof of insurance before hiring.

How do bids work?

Describe your project, confirm your email, finish the required details and press Send. We alert matching contractors. Premiere members can send quotes, which you compare in your portal. A response is not guaranteed. After you complete your request, signed-in Premiere contractors can see the address, phone and email you share. Those details are not included in contractor emails.
